I was just wondering if anyone has heard of the following specific problem before and if so what can be done about.

Anyway I have just recently bought a Scubapro Glide 2000 (not new but almost as good as). This has an Intergrated Weight system. I have not yet bought any weights for it so up till now hire/borrow weights.

Whilst diving recently I was using the 'normal' type weights that you put on a weight belt and whilst 'down below' after about 20 minutes I noticed that one of the weight pouches was hanging down having fallen from it's pocket......Thankfully they have a retaining type clip on otherwise I would have lost half my weights.

It wasn't too much of a problem but it was fiddly to get back in whilst underwater and it also drew my attention away a little from what I wanted to look at. On subsequent dives I noticed that the pouches (on both sides) were struggling to actually stay in.

Is there much that can be done about this? Am I just using the wrong weights? Is this a common/'normal' problem?

Regards,
TB

The Scubapro weight pockets have a D-ring on the end of the nylon strap with the buckle. After you buckle the pocket in you should cinch the strap up tight. This should keep the pockets from shifting around at all.

I have cinched them up as tight as they go. In fact I did them so tight (and it still didn't stop them) I thought I was doing it wrong......

Any other suggestions?

What weights?

How much weight are we talking about? The main reason I am not a fan of integrated BC's is the conundrum of quick release and bye bye. SP has actually given up on quick release and that is why you did not lose your weights. If you are unable to use a weight belt, I think a weight harness is better than integrated, but there is probably still a quick release conundrum.
