In the market for a new camera to use underwater (my old SD600 with a Canon housing leaked and shorted).
I really like the S90, and I was looking at investing in the Ikelite housing for it (instead of the Canon one) so I could grow in to add-on lenses in the future. The thing that really bugs me about it though is its lack of HD video capability. Most (all?) of the other P&S's can shoot 720p vid nowadays, and I'd guess the future S90 replacement will as well (I really don't understand why the S90 doesn't, since it's pretty similar in spec to the year+ older Panasonic LX3). If I'm forking out for a whole rig, I'd like it to have fairly decent performance for a few years, and not lagging behind right out of the box.
So, I could either:
A - Pick up a cheaper/lower P&S with a Canon housing for now and go big next time. (Any suggestions for a P&S with an available Canon housing that's decent and shoots HD vid?)
B - Pick up a used replacement SD600
C - Just go ahead with an S90, nevermind the video this round.
