I got certified a little over a year ago, and I'm a full blown addict. It has become my [-]hobby[/-] obsession. But the wife doesn't dive. All of you in similar situations know where I'm going with this...
About 7 years ago, during our honeymoon, we did one of those resort dives. She got down about 10 feet and got scared. I think it was too much, too fast. I mean, we were in the middle of the ocean, in about 75 feet of water...she got a bit overwhelmed. Ever since then, she wouldn't even entertain the idea of trying it again.
Until now. After much suggestive selling by your's truly, she's decided to try a Discover Scuba class at our LDS!
I'm so friggin' excitied! I hate going on scuba weekends/trips without her, and truly would LOVE it if she took it up. I think that if she had the opportunity to do some pool work and get comfortable, maybe she'd consider getting her OW. I know that once she got the hang of it, she'd totally fall in love.
Unfortunately she's a major shop-a-holic. So if she does fall in love, I'm in big trouble.
Oh well, it will be worth it.
