Well, I just took my written test for the 2nd time (Don't ask why :shakehead ) and I passed with flying colors! Now, all I have to do is finish my 2nd OW dive and I'll be certified! I'm already signed up to take "Scuba 2" at my local college, so by the summer, I should be Advanced OW certified! I can't wait!

EDIT: Sorry for the confusion. Let me be a little bit more clear. I have completed my 1st, 3rd, and 4th OW dive towards my OW certification. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I couldn't complete my 2nd dive, and so I have to do that one over in order to be OW certified.

All the agencies Iknow require minnimum of 4 dives for full certification. Anything less and you will be required to have a divemaster with you on your dives.

Perhaps he means his 2nd day of dives? Most OW courses out here do a day of shore dives and a day of boat dives.

I'm guessing he may be counting each day as one dive?

or maybe... decend ...20min bottom time... come up for 30sec SI ... decend 20 min bottom time = 1 dive?

Congratulation on your OW certification!
