Fiji in August, any recomendations? Most likely stay in Naviti, by the Yasawa Island group.

Thanks,

Gui

Hi: I just stayed at Nanuya Island Resort in the Yasawa's in June. It was a very nice resort on the "Blue Lagoon" beach.....which was really beautiful. The prices are very good at this resort and they have an onsite dive operator who is really the oldest, and best in the Yasawa's. Only continental breakfast is included in the price.....so you purchase meals seperately......the food is very good. There is a wall just in front of the resort that has lots of broken coral, (because of fishing boats and Blue Lagoon Cruise anchors)......but the boat dives are really good. The only other accommodation in this area is a backpackers resort on the other side of the island, Turtle Island Resort on the next island and a very romantic honeymoon spot called Navutu Stars on another island around the corner. You get here by ferry or by seaplane. If diving is a priority you might want to check out Kadavu instead as there is a bit better diving on the Astrolab Reef and some really good prices for August.

Hope you have a great time. Fiji is wonderful!

The company I work for runs the diving there. It's a beautiful setting. Any of the dives around Naukacuvu - Garden of Eden, The Erebus, Caves of Babylon - are all fantastic. I would also recommend doing the beach dive - you walk down the beach to the right of the bottom photo, jump in and then go with the current through the channel you can see. There's soft corals and loads of fish but certified divers often skip it because it's a beach dive. I think it's great and when I go and visit the boys there (English guy called Paul and Fijian guy called James run the shop) I like to do it as a night dive too.

Some pics I have taken there...

Yeah, our base is at Mantaray Resort. Occasionally they see sillhouettes of the rays in the water from the bar (where the bottom photo was taken from).
