I'm arriving early in the morning (9AM) from Bangkok and would love to fit in some diving. Some questions for anyone who can help:

1) How are conditions around August 1st?
2) Recommendations on a dive op? I have three people, and prefer small / private boats to big ones (plus we can't hit the water until 10:30am)
3) For 2-3 dives, what sites would be good to ask for?

Thanks!

In general August is ok weatherwise. Dive conditions here are not that much influenced by the season, so also there you should be ok.

But to go diving that day you really have only 1 option, which is to rent a private boat. Diveboats here in the area depart around 09.00 from the pier in Chalong, so you'll have to make it a private trip.

The recommended divesites would depend on your dive experience.

Any idea on operators who do private and what we might expect to pay?
