What are the significant differences between these two products?

I haven't seen the OMS in person (only online) but I have seen the Halcyon in person. Very Nice! I'm a huge fan of Halcyon products. They are all very well thought out and bulit with excellent craftsmanship! I have also experienced excellent customer service with them. Unfortunately I have read (on this board) not so nice things about OMS. I think I read a post from Boogie711 one time where he said they have a reputation that's "just a bit better than Enron." Check with him. That Guy knows his stuff.

The drawback to Halcyon is the cost but what are you gonna do? :)

Also the Stainless Steel Inflator Buttons on The Halcyon are un matched and frankly, cool as heck! Very precise inflation controll.

To be fair, OMS stuff is really cool looking and some people love their stuff.

Well apparently you can poke a paper clip through the outer bag on the Halcyon but not the OMS ;)

Really?

I also can not compare the 2 wings although I do have a 36# Pioneer from Halcyon that I like. However the comparison that OMS shows on their website, without seeing it for myself live, is like OJ trying to put on the blood stained gloves and him saying they didn't fit. I am not saying the OMS is not as good as they say it is, I just take what they say on their own website with a grain of salt.

I've owned the OMS 65lb non-banded bladder - the old model from a couple years ago - and the Halcyon 55lb Explorer. No performance difference at all, and the OMS was $150 less. The hose was a little long on the OMS, but it's an easy fix. The outer bag on the OMS is a 1000 denier, while the Halcyon is 1680 denier. I've heard people say the bladder liner is thicker on the OMS, but with the slightly heaver protective bag on the Halcyon, the difference is probably irrelevant. OMS, Dive Rite Classic Wings, Halcyon Explorer, doesn't matter - they're all excellent products. I'd buy according to price.
