I found other information that seemed to indicate that these two products were compatable, but I was hoping to hear from someone with firsthand experience.

Is the OMS 45 wing with retraction bands going to be compatable with the Dive Rite SS backplate?? I plan to use the DiveRite single tank adapter with the wing and plate. The reason I ask, is because the backplate seems to be a little bigger than the mounting area of the wing.

Thanks!

With the exception of the Halcyon Pioneer wings that don't fit well on anything but Halcyon backplates, most wings and backplates are pretty much interchangeable. Issues sometimes crop up for single tank users, where the slots for cam bands may not line up exactly right (or exist at all) but if you're going to use a STA you should be just fine. If you don't mind my asking, why this combination?

I bought a new DiveRite Backplate, Classic Harness, and Classic Wings as a package. I had purchased with the idea to use the Classic wings with my LP 95 Steel and Doubles, but then discovered that that Bladder was only recommended for doubles. I will be using the Classic Wing with Double AL 80's for some tech training and will problably get them O2 cleaned to use with Nitrox eventually for boat diving in CA. I bought the OMS 45 wing because I got a great deal at $145 after it was used for one week by another diver. I also still have my US Divers Alcyone BC which is rear inflation with a tech type harness. If the the OMS wing and plate don't workout then I will just buy a OMS IQ Pack BC to go with the wing and get rid of my Alcyone BC.

Thanks.

If used with a STA the Pioneer wing works fine with Dive Rite backplate. As you mentioned later in the post, the cam band slots do not line up, but as long as a STA is used, no problem at all.

I think that the bestidea would be to use the OMS plate and then the bladder and STA of your choice, as the OMS has the slot on the bottom rather than the two holes as with the top mounting point. They even have slots now so you don't even have to use the STA, although I would.

I believe FredT makes one about that size, he's a member here under that name, send him a PM and he'll email you the details.
