OMS canister for canister light

Has anybody thought of using the OMS Water Proof Canister for a battery canister for a DIY light?

I'm thinking of picking one up for my DIY canister light.

Then the hardest part will be to spin up the light head on the lathe..

Cant think of any reason it wouldnt work.

The biggest concern would be how the end caps are fastened and what size cells you could fit.

2 1/8th in = 53.95mm. A 18650 Li Ion cell is 18mm wide so you may just squeeze in 3 rows of 7 or 3 rows of 4.

I doubt you will get 3 C cells per row but you will get 2 row of 4.

Throw on a toggle switch and a gland and away you go!

Hey check on ebay some guy is selling old Dive Rite canisters with out the battery packs. He is selling just the canisters.
