Ok...Ouick on for you all. I am looking at a OMS bladder should i get the bungees or NON bungee one? Also do OMS make a 55# lift bladder? I know they make a 60# lift bladder, and some people say they have a 55# but there website dosent say they make one. Thanks for the help.

non-bungie...no need for bungies...

But this is one of those things that people debate vigorously. My logic - bungies overcomplicate a simple design and they don't add anything. Therefore, why use them?

There are big debates over this one. With little to no real evidence either way. The only significant point I can see is the risk of entanglement. There is definitely more risk of entanglement in tight environments. If you never do penetration wreck dives this shouldn't be a problem. Every other point in the debate is, at best, a matter of opinion. Even the "independent testing" on the OMS website shows little to no difference in most debated points.

I have a 60lb with bungies. I only got the bungies as I wanted to be able to use the wing with single tanks as it is the only BC I have. An otherwise unrestricted 60lb wing with singles would be all over the place. One might ask why I got such a large wing, I was looking at some doubles that I haven't bought yet and I'm a big guy and hence carry a lot of weight. Also I was about to get a 35-40 and my Instructor told me to get something larger if I wanted doubles later (He knew I wasn't going to buy from him so it wasn't "buy what I have in stock").

Get the bungies, no tacoing, no massive air shifts, and flapping material all over the place -- but as mentioned there are a number of people with loud voices on this board that claim that bungies are no good without any concrete evidence.

There is a 45 or 60 lb versions available in the bungeed version. If you get those you can always remove the bungies if you feel they are not needed, but if you buy without you can never add them.

I might add that if you are concerned about entanglement removing bungies will not completely remove the risk, since there are bands on the outside that hold the bungies in place that are not easily removable. Well, at least not without cutting them.

i did see that one on Ebay...But is that a 55 or 60 i never found any info on the 55# one is that one on ebay miss leading or do OMS make a 55#

LOL! You are too funny! :D

I just would say that after more than 100 dives with my bungies, I'm not planning on removing them from my bladder.
