I currently bought a Olympus 8080 and was looking at different housings and was wodering if it should get the olympus pt-023 housing for the 8080 or is it worth spending another $200 and buy the ikelite. Any help is appreciated

I'm in the process of making the same decision. Did you pick one yet, Frenchy?

The Ikelite option allows you to use the Ikelite TTL option. Buddy has one, seems really nice. The hardwired strobe seems like a better idea then using the slave mode required for the PT. Plus you don't have to internal flash, thus prolonging the camera batteries.

No I havn't picked one yet, but I suspect I will end up going with the ikelite housing.

For the C8080 I would without hesitation go with the Ikelite. It is more rugged; it has TTL with Ike strobes, it has a better wide angle option (dome) and Ike has great customer service.

I think I'm probably going to go with the Ike, too, though I'm having trouble justifying the extra expense since I'm new to UW photography and plan to see what kind of results I get just playing with the white balance before even buying a strobe.

Wow, that was a really long sentence.
