The Olympus housing for the E-PL3 arrived today. In brief it is the standard Olympus housing, well constructed, with decent button layout. Just drop in the camera with attached flash and go. Buttons are accessible for even cold-water divers wearing heavy gloves. We did play with their “Target Light for Macro photography” in the shop. Like most we feel this should have not been included but it is functional for macro photography. The attached shots are just to give a rough idea of the way they function in low to medium lighting. More later…..

Thanks for the photos.

I whipped off the standard port even before sticking the camera in, so haven't seen the results.
Not that bright..?

Too funny, but I think adding a Zen Pen Dome to this set-up will be very common as it has been with many of it's predecessors.

thnx for info

It is powered by two AAA batteries. As far as "lumen" output I have not seen a number for that. If time permits will pull a couple other focus lights we have ratings for and sees how it compares.

For those interested here is a comparison of the Olympus E-PL3 Housing and its Target Lights vs. the Fantasea 30 lumen Nano Focus light. So super rough guess is the Olympus Target lights total around 10 lumens (+/-) ten lumens;)

I hate gimmicks...why not just keep the price the same with no focus lights, they seem pretty useless.
