I know my post is incredibly vague and broad, but I just bought an Olympus Fe-4020 digital camera. I picked this as it is a very versatile camera that I felt I could use both in and out of the water. I am looking into a Seashell ss-1 housing for it, but the more research I do, I am finding it very hard to find any information on this camera in regards to diving with it. It is making think that it is not very well suited for this, and I just wanted to know if anyone who has this camera had any thoughts or opinions on this?

I noticed it does not have an UW scene mode and I think it's one that Olympus does not make a housing for. It does have a nice wide 26mm lens at the widest, decent macro it looks like from the specs, and a short zoom so the port won't be too long. The white balance has a few options and some experimentation will be needed to figure out what WB will work best. In shallow water just leave it on the normal or cloudy setting I would guess. That's above 15-20 ft. Deeper try other settings maybe since there's no manual or auto WB. I have another Olympus, fe360 and like it UW--just bought a Canon s95.

There really isn't any good housings avialable for it. Olympus choose not to make ones for the Fe series this year.

Thanks. I think it actually might have an auto WB. If it does, should I stick with that if UW past 20ft?

In regards to housings, I know Olympic doesn't make one, but is the Seashell SS-1 worthless? It looks like it only has a shutter button, meaning no modifications can be made after placing the camera inside the housing?
