Hi I cannot find the underwater macro and wide angle settings. The book tells how to access it but I cannot find it on the camera. Did they change this?
Thnx

That is a button setting.
First, you have to be sure that you have the advanced menu (with the little gears) available. When you do have that select that and go to BUTTON sub-menu. Select one of the "Function" options and then select the big fish - little fishes option.
It doesn't seem to do much above water (minor adjustment in exposure), but I haven't tested yet under water and I think there might be a better use for the Fn button.

The best part about the advanced menu needed to get at the macro and W/A settings is the ability to use the larger menu on the LCD screen to change settings while underwater. Things like ISO and auto focus can be easily changed from the rear of the housing. I have never used the two underwater settings on any of the Olympus cameras I have owned or tested, so I have no opinion on how well they work.

Phil,
Not having used the full screen menu in any previous Olympus DSLRs, I find myself preferring the simpler 'side' menu. It seems to have all of the options I might need to change U/W like focus/ white balance, ISO, Strobe, metering, etc. The extra things you get with the big screen like contrast, sharpness, saturation, etc, are probably not stuff I would want to play with U/W.

Hmmm, that restricts you a bit and I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere. Here is a great Olympus brochure that is on Jack's website that actually goes into some detail about the different underwater shooting modes of the E-PL1.
