Hi, After loads of waiting for the Canon G17, it turned out to be a G5X and honestly, I'm kind dissapointed with the spec offered. So, I think I am switching my focus to a wider range and stop hoping Canon will regain their passion.

I'm currently looking into Olympus E-PL7. Is there any sample of underwater picture that's taken with the Olymous E-PL7 with it's original housing and the flash that comes with the camera??

Or is the flash unable to use underwater due to the housing opening with 2 micro fiber ports...

You're really going to need an external flash with any of the Oly housings like this. We have a review and photos on our blog here:

So, if I were to get an E-PL7 + PT-EP12 housing, will the UF3 strobe from Olympus worth the extra money compare to the Sea&Sea YS-01??

No, the UFL-3 doesn't offer a lot more, just RC mode. The YS-D2 would be a much better option and it's on sale.

Thanks buddy. But i'm living in Malaysia... I've also read some review on the E-PL7 where you can only zoom all wide or all tele with button. Is there any aftermarket zoom gear to zoom anything in the middle of the range??

You can set the camea to zoom one percent at a time with the left and right buttons. Not sure about a gear.

Won't fit. Wrong gear.

Hi JackConnick.

I've now narrowed down my choice to either e-pl6 or e-pl7.

Another question i'd like to ask about e-pl7 before i end up making a wrong choice.

Here is the situation. E-PL6 has almost the same features as an E-PL7. The E-PL6 housing is PT-EP10 has the port that is capable of using the 60mm Macro lens. But the kit 14-42mm IIR lens magnification is 0.19x. I am not sure if it's capable of taking good macro shot even with thr diopter lens.

However, in Malaysia. An E-PL7 comes with the 14-42mm EZ lens as kit. It has slightly better magnification of 0.23x compare to the IIR lens 0.19x. But the PT-EP12 housing does not fit the 60mm macro lens. But i am not sure how well a +10 diopter lens will work either.

If the macro of the E-PL7 with 14-42mm EZ lens works well, I can at least save some cash for a Strobe.

Here is my question. Do you have any sample of uncropped macro pictures taken with the E-PL7 + 14-42mm ES lens + diopter. Or E-PL5 + 14-42mm IIR lens + diopter?

Your assistance is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
