Hi all,

I'm looking for advice about the camera settings for u/w use. At the moment, my aperture is set at f7, the shutter speed at 1/100, ISO=64, WB set to auto and camera set for underwater use. I am not using a strobe or any light, only relying on the flash.
I have put sample photos in my gallery (all taken at a 20-25m depth) that highlight the problems I'm encountering as a novice u/w camera user.
- The lionfish picture came out too red; I had used the flash in that instance.
- The Napoleon fish pic is all blue and blurry; no flash used
I have read previous posts about this camera and some people use hid/halogen lights. I just wonder if it is possible to take decent pictures without investing in a strobe and by relying on proper settings. I know some people have had decent results by setting the WB to "cloudy"; I'd love to see some pictures.

Thanks in advance for the tips

really need an external strobe and a wide angle lens for "decent" images..as to settings try shutter speed 160-200 with an iso of 200 f stop of 5.6 to f 8..leave white balance on auto if using any kind of artifical light (internal or external strobe, get close real close to subject, no more than 3',shoot upward angle not down.Stay real shallow if not using proper strobe so as to make the most of available light.
But to be fair to you , really really need a strobe and wa lens to get the images you want. Look in my gallery.

Ok thank you for the feedback :-) Any recommendations for external strobes? I'm a novice so don't really know what specs to look for..
