PT-023

After returning from a week long dive trip I noticed the red metal bezel on the front of the lense port was loose. It's seems to be threaded on and I turned it which tightened it up pretty snug.

Does anyone know how it's actually mounted? Is just tightening okay? Should I unscrew it and do something?

It never leaked while on the trip but was probably a bit loose.

Suggstions appreciated.

Hey Don,

Check out my similar post here. Gilligan's page has a description of how these ports work. Your model might be different, but I'm sure it's basically the same.

If it's anything like the 5050 it just screws on. i don't know what possessed me, but one day I unscrewed the port and took out the lens and o-ring to clean them. We then discovered that it was physically impossible to get it all back together:11: I know there are instructions on gillians website, but we spent two days trying to put it back together and was unable too. Of course, I was about to leave for a dive trip and was most upset! Thankfully my dad came to the rescue and he made something to push it back together and then it only required a little bit to tightening and it's been as good as gold ever since:14: So, the moral to my story is what ever you, don't take the lens and oring out!!

Mine came loose on my PT-030 while unscrewing the WA lens. Tightened it back, everything's fine. I think you have to get it quite unthreaded before anything will leak while it's under pressure.
