I am new to underwater photography but have more or less decided to get an Oly C-5060 as my underwater camera. A couple of questions:

Do you recommend the PT-020 housing or the Ikelite housing?

Do you recommend the wide-angle kit?

I want an external flash (have been looking at the Ikelite DS-50 or 125), what do I need to get it to work with the camera/housing (TTL etc.)? Is it enough with a TTL sync cord? What about arms, trays etc? Do I need something to cover the internal flash? In short, I know nothing about external flash for underwater digital photography, and would like to know as muchas possible (what accessories do I need etc.). Since i plan to order online I need to know what is necessary to get everything work underwater.

I realize I ask a lot, but am thankful for any recommendations,

Gustaf

I'd go with the Ikelite housing, especially if you are already looking into the Ikelite strobes. The DS125s are supposed to be great for whatever function you want to use them in(WAL/Macro - whatever). You'll need the TTL chord to use with the camera in order to use the TTL functions the camera offers.

I also recommend the Ikelite housing. The pt-020 (I have heard) has not been that reliable. The Ike housing will give you the option of using TTL through the synch cord. The ds-125s are great allowing you to use TTL or some control over the manual use of the strobe. I have the Ike/5050/2 ds-125 set-up and am very happy with it. I suggest that you consider calling Ryan at www.reefphotovideo.com. He will provide you great advice and service. He also features free shipping. (I have no affiliation other than being a satisfied customer.)
