I recently purchased the 770SW and its housing, along with the Olympus UFL-1 underwater strobe. Olympus doesn't make a synch cable to go with the strobe - they rely on the "open air" optical path between the camera and strobe to get the TTL synchronization to work.

This actually works fine on land and in my swimming pool, but at 60' in the Bahamas, it didn't work at all. Does anyone know of 3rd-party fiber optic synch cable that will work for me? The sensor on the UFL-1 is about 1/2 in diameter, so a cable with a suction cup that size could attach over it. Does such a thing exist?

TIA.

I just purchased the Inon tray and lens holder for my 770 and PT035 housing. I do not have a strobe yet but I am told by the store I got the tray and lens from that the Inon strobe and Inon trigger that attaches to the lens holder works very nicely.

My 770 with Inon 165 lens, Inon tray and Inon lens adapter with attach points for strobe cable:

I have to save my pennies for the strobe and optical cable. Unfortunately my diving season for the year is over--well--maybe.

I recently got the Inon d-2000, which among other things I use on my 5050, and I have to say that I am very impressed with this strobe. I use the IR optical cable and couldn't be happier with the exposures. I do need to get a diffuser though, and another strobe!
