Hello all,

Does anybody have any info about the "Old Tran Bridge" site in Welland. My 13 year old Son certified just last year and is faily new to diving. would this be something he could handle?

The train swing bridge in Welland would be as good dive for your son, easy entrance from the east side of canal. There are lots of things to see, usually lots of fish aroung supports, the reagular junk. 30 feet of water, no current, water temp mid to high sixties right now. Silt bottom stirs up quickly so need good boyancy or there will be no visability. Parking area on north east side in park area. Enjoy

The trainbridge and entire Welland Recreational Waterway (as it's now called) has become a haven for divers.

Each weekend all you need to do is drive around and you will find evidence of divers in the area. It does silt up quickly though, and there is no current to carry off the silt once it's stirred up.

The Welland Tribune recently did an article in January 2008 about divers in the waterway as well.
