Does anyone have any u/w pix of phuket? phi phi or even the reef at the north of Kata beach that goes out to koh poo island? I want to do some snorkaling too while i'm there and can't find much on this reef.

The snorkelling off the north end of Kata Beach offers some corals, although the southern end of Kata Beach has a lot more fish; ornate ghost pipefish and robust ghost pipefish lately. Koh Pu offers more variety and this past week we have been seeing turtles there. Year's ago we used to see them regularly there and then we only saw them occassionally. Hopefully this means they are back to stay. Weather temperature today is 32C - water temperature a cold 27C (brrrrr for us being used to higher temp's!!!!).

Sorry Ringo, but the northern reef is excellent for a reef so close to the beach. Crocodile fish, Scorpion fish, Lion fish, Ghost pipefish, cuttlefish, etc and of course the normal reef fish are almost guaranteed. So plenty of fish, and a great variety in corals, unfortunately not that sparkling in colours.

Scubakevdm:
Well Phuket, if no one's going to answer me, I'm going to another forum.

Phuket is pronounced "poo get" - at least that's how I pronounce it and the locals seem to agree :-) Hope that answers you question scubakevdm.
