hi guys, i havn't dived in a while although i have had a lot of ear troubles particularly in my left ear. When i was swimming i went to the bottom of a 3 metre pool and equalised on the way down no problem. Although as i ascended i got a reverse squeeze in my left ear only, it was painful but shortly after it felt fine. Anybody got any suggestions or advice? I'm seeing a diving doc tomorow.

cheers guys.

Hi, Tone...

Thanks for writing! Lots of posts on this here, a common problem. It all comes down to basic principals of equalization and a good ENT exam to make sure that there is no structural problem - sounds like you have that one covered.

If you haven't seen this video, you should check it out.

As far as the dreaded reverse squeeze goes, I always remember the old pilot's saying: "Takeoffs are optional, landings are mandatory"....!
