I am a volunteer at the local aquarium and we keep two Giant Pacific Octopus, male and female. Around Valentines we have “Octopus Week” the highlights being the two mating and then releasing them to lay the eggs, typically they live right under our dock. A few photos from the event.
We do a live video show of the release. So one biologist is shooting video, one is the "talent" talking about the octo and answering questions from the surface, two line tenders for all the video and com cables and another biologist who helps manage the octo. Quite a lot going on under a dock, lol.
