GUE Fundamentals class in Key Largo Florida @ Silent World Dive Center October 25th - October 29th

Course cost is $700 per person.

Course cost does not include boat trips or equipment rentals.

Drop me a PM, email training@silentworld.com or call us at the shop at 305-451-3252 for additional information.

Class is limited to six students. Three spaces remain.

I have been thinking about taking Fundamentals. I'd like to take it in a warm-water location so as not to introduce a new variable while I'm taking the class (all of my diving has been in warm water).

I was hoping to take a (different) Fundamentals class earlier this month, but we weren't able to get enough students.

If there are six students, will there be a second instructor? Do you know who it would be?

Thank you,
Blue Sparkle

PS: Oops, I just noticed you said to PM for more info. I think I will leave this here though in case it might help anyone else who is interested.

Based upon your parameters I would contact Silent World ASAP in order inquire further. An experience of a lifetime in Paradise...

Hi Scott,

I have contacted Silent World, thanks.

I was curious about the class size/additional instructor, because -- if I understand it correctly -- GUE specifies no more than a 1:4 teacher to student ratio for the in-water portions of the class. So I'm guessing there will be a second instructor (if there end up being 6 in the class) and I was curious who it would be. Of course Bob Sherwood's reputation precedes him, so no complaints there!

PS: I have now sent a PM to Avery. I just thought it might be good to keep the info going in this thread, especially if people are on the fence about taking it. I know that I would not have noticed the first class I tried to take if the thread had not come up on "new posts" just when I was thinking about it (unfortunately we could not get enough people and had to cancel).

PPS: I contacted Bob Sherwood, and he explained that if there are more than three students, then the in-water dives are split up so that there are no more than three students with him at any one time. Thanks, Bob!

Skills for a lifetime of diving with one of the best in the country. Mix in the warm blue water and your going to have a great class!! :D

Yep as noted below if we extend past three students dives will be spilt up so no more then three students are with Bob at a time.

The other question Sparkle had asked that is good info for everyone was in regards to boat trip costs. Boat trips are two tank two location trips and are $80.00 per trip.

It should also be noted that each student will be responsible for a equal portion of Bob Sherwoods expenses.

Three and Five trip packages are available at a discounted rate.

Night dives will also be running during the week for those who want to get some extra water time in.
