Back from a Dive trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. A word of friendly advise. Don't take your diving gear. There are no accommodations. Our dive boat was junk. Dive master? took off at the end of the dive no 3 min deco stop and got on the boat, and didn't even help us out of a ruff sea, 7 to 10 ft swells. Head aches after the dives by all divers, probably CO? bad air. Even though it tested ok before the dive. Hurry up CZM and get well. Jamaica me crazy, for diving in Ocho Rios. Another word of advise, If it looks like junk, it will be junk, and don't go.

How many times hasn't this forum stated that Jamacia is not a great dive destination?
Don't be so disappointed, you should have read it here. Then again, you only have 9 posts, so, you should listen to the advise on this forum for any future trips, I've found the advise to be very accurate. .........At least you got to dive, probably not something you might want to do in Oklahoma right now.

Always good advice, do research while planning your trips so you know what to expect.
I'm not too suprised in your experience in Ochi (Ocho Rios) don't think i've ever dove there and i've been all over the island.

Your experiences would probably have been better (dive sites, operator etc.) had you gone to Montego Bay or Negril.
Glad you're alright though from the bad air?
BTW stating that they're no accomodations in Ocho rios is a bit inaccurate considering the amount of hotels & rooms there, but I guess you were referring to 'accomodations' from a dive related sense.

Bonaire, Cozumel and Belize are all safe bets.

I dove with the resort op at the Sans Souci Lido in Ocho Rios several years ago. The op was ok but the diving was well below Caribbean average.
