I am looking at buying an Oceanic SPG combo to go with my Scubapro regs (yet to buy). I like the Oceanic compass as it is real easy to see North quickly without straining to work it out if your eyes ain't so good or other things hinder. Does anyone have tips on this, or experience with this SPG etc.?

SPG's are all pretty much the same. I agree with you that the Oceanic compass is easy to read. I had one for years until I got A Suunto Cobra which requires their compass attachment.:shades:
