Last week I got a new Oceanic PP3. I have gone through the owners manual and the on line tutorial a couple of times now. What I can't find the answer to is, why three gas settings? Gas 1, gas 2 and gas 3. I'm confused.......

This allows you to use multiple tanks with different mixes. I have used it for backgas and deco mixes during light technical diving. Think of it as carrying a tank of Nitrox 32 and a Deco tank with 80% in it. This allows you to switch between them. I find that the PP3 is not 'natural' to switch between mixes and really to not like to use it for multiple mixes. It is a great computer otherwise. I have 3 of them for me and my family. I highly recommend them.
