oceanic pro plus 2 download problems

I just bought an oceanic pro plus 2 with metal buttons.
i cannot download my dives. I have version 2.x on my pc and the drivers installed and recognized. I have created a profile on the software. When i connect to my pc the computer starts the 120 sec countdown and i start the download and get the message starting handshake and after 20 seconds it says time out and the dives are not loaded. What am i missing?

1. Open software program.
2. Under "Dive Logs" Click "dive"
3. Click red + symbol on top to add dives
4. Window opens "add dive options", choose "download from PCD" Click OK
5. Press both buttons on pro plus, select 1, click through (5) to PC and timer starts
6. connect cable, USB to computer, connect cable to pro plus
7. click blue arrow button to start download
8. a list of dives will be downloaded, you must click each one that you want to save
9. click on "save dives" button, this starts the download and saves it to your dive log, it will say "status;download completed" on each dive you chose to save
10. now your dives are saved, click red square button to close window
11. this will pop you into your dive log and now you can manually add dive site, location etc.

If you tried this and no handshake takes place, it is not seeing the pro plus 2 and times out. You probably don't have the connection to the pro plus 2 connected correctly. The label goes up and the flat part is down. I have to hold the connection in place while downloading.

Bogie: I'm having same Oceanic Pro Plus 2 download problem you solved for mstew23. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to help me with further instructions. I pressed both "silver" buttons, but am unsure of your "select 1, click through 5" instructions. I do get a "PC" message, then get quickly timed out. Connecting dive computer, I guess "label goes up" means while looking at dive computer screen & label means SN bar code sticker, rather than imprinted 3 directional arrows. Also, I need help finding "save dives" button. Thanks for any additional help. Cobo-Loco
