I'm thinking about buying an old Oceanic DataTrans from a friend for $300. He said that on his Oceanic first stage it read the correct pressure, but on his new ScubaPro first stage it read 2000 PSI over what it should, so for subsequent dives he always had to mentally compensate for whatever readings his DataTrans was giving him.

I have a HOG first stage. Uhhhh... is there going to be a problem with this setup, or does anyone know a way to fix it?

Something is waaaay off here. Either there is some calibration procedure he managed to mess up some how or the thing is in serious need of factory service.....don't buy it if that is what you are thinking, it's in trouble...and not likely repairable.
