I am using the oceanic Probe BC and want to upgrade so I can lose the octo. My LDS is a dealer of both brands but has to order the Air XS. He keeps the Air 2 in stock and says it will connect and work with no alterations to the BC. There is a $15 dollar difference in the price. Does anyone have any experience with these products they would like to share. I am inclined to keep the BC all Oceanic but welcome any suggestions and information that you have.

If you like the Air 2, go with it. It's kinda like drinking pink or yellow lemonade. Not much difference.

I was in your shoes about 18 months ago. I have the Air XS on my Probe, and have no complaints. I found the inflator and dump buttons easier to use on the Air XS. It was just a little more ergonomic for me.

Other than that, I saw no advantage over the Air 2.

I would recommend you try breathing from an Atomic SS1. Leagues above the two you mentioned.

I know this is an old thread but I didn't see it when you first posted. I dive the Oceanic Probe, with the Oceanic Air slimline setup. It doesn't breathe that great (just needs to be tuned some) but it does the job. I had to breathe off it at 80' when Michael ran out of air while we were in Pensacola. It kept me alive :D It does breathe a little wet however.
