Hello all.

Looking for personal views from o2ptima divers .

I am particularly interested in the pros, cons and quirks of the , across the shoulder scrubber,

Any surprises good or bad ?

I am planning on making a copy of the AQULUNG CRABE rebreather.

I am tossing up whether to have scrubber like the crabe, across the lower back.

Or scrubber across the shoulders 02ptima style.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards Ralph.

Pros
1. Very water tolerant, easy to clear water without possibly contaminating scrubber.
2. Easy to access and swap scrubber with unit fully built.

Cons
1. Large air cell behind your head and tanks, valves, and regs mounted low make for a head light unit. It is very different switching between doubles and an Optima. When diving a drysuit, I just switch from jet fins in doubles to Dive Rite XT fins with the Optima. That is enough to trim it out. When I am diving it in a wetsuit, I use the trim pillow built into the Dive Rite CCR wing to account for low mounted negative buoyancy.

Thanks Tracy

Sounds all good to me ,

The buoyancy situation , sounds like something you set and forget.

Cheers.
