I am getting ready to get setup for a deco procedures class, and I am curious about Oxygen compatability on the SPG.

You hear a lot of talk about O2 clean regulators etc. But you never really hear this discussion relating to the SPG. Since this component will be exposed to high pressures of concentrated O2, I want to make sure that I use the appropriate equipment.

Any comments?

Various companies put out SPG's that are suitable for use with O2. Check with DiveRite and OMS, for instance.

P.S.---Some of the little "thumbnail" gauges can be cleaned and o-ringed for such use.:D

Dive rite has the spg's in regular size, 2", and a smaller, 1.5" size. Both are available (if you want) with a compass on the back side of the spg. While the compass is pretty much useless, on the 2" size, a Uwatec, (or OMS) Depth Gage /Bottom Timer will pop right in the hole when you take the compass out. Keeps it right where you can see it, without tying up a wrist. Or you can keep a backup one there.

I changed out the spool o-rings just because they were old other than that not a dam thing was done
