when you not using your housing do you store it away with the o rings in or out? or does it not matter?

I store mind without the oring. I keep the o ring in a plastic zip lock bag. I also fly with the o ring in this manner.
 
The o rings around push buttons and rods are very difficult to remove. I don't remove them, and have not had a flood. I make sure they are clean and lubricated.
