Most people shopped for air according to cost, so the message had to get through that cheap was not always better when it came to air.
Really? I never take price into account. I mean what difference is there? 50c, $1?

Is it common for dive shops in Oz and NZ to use gasoline/petrol engine driven compressors?
No not common at all. The only petrol compressors I have seen are the small portables in peoples baches and boats.

In my experiance the cheaper fills are the ones I have more confidence in. Why?
because my LDS charges $3 for a fill while if im out on one of the islands its $10 for a fill & I know my LDS compressor would get a better service and maitainace program than a compressor out on Kawau or great barrier island.
I belive the pricing does not reflex quality but competition.
