Some folks try and bring them ashore killing the poor snail and then the outer membrane just dies off and you have a white shell without the nice markings you see.

Quite common in Florida. Usually see them eating the sea fans

Yes, Flamingo Tongue, which I do not believe is technically a nudibranch -- but seems a lot like one to me. Hopefully someone here can expound upon why they are not a nudibranch.

It has a shell.

What you see in the photos is the mantle of the snail covering the shell.

They are related to cowries I believe.
