Based on wide foot recommendations from @tbone1004 on various threads, I have been diving with NRS Paddle Boots/Wetshoes over my drysuit's crushed neo socks for a few years now. I recently went to pick up a pair for diving wet and found that NRS has changed the style, adding a fixed strap to the new model that doesn't look very fin friendly. Anyone tried the new version? Or have other recommendations for 3-5mm wet booties for wide feet?

I haven't used that specific model, but I dove for a couple years with the NRS ATB wetboot, which also has a strap across it. I didn't have any discomfort or issues with my boots/fins and loved them for the work that I did, however I will say that my strap sat perfectly outside (just above) the fin pocket. I think if it fit where the strap was in the pocket, or partially in, it would be extremely uncomfortable. If you are buying the shoes in person, I would suggest taking along a fin and seeing where that strap fit for you.

How did you size the boots over the socks? Same, +1, +2, other?
