We are planning a trip to Nova Scotia and PEI this summer. While diving will not be the main objective of the trip we would like to get a few dives in while we are there. PEI diving doesn’t seem to be that exciting but we would like to get a few dive in while in Nova Scotia. We will be staying in Prospect. Are there any can’t miss shore dive that anyone can recommend in the Prosoect/Halifax area? Any special considerations concerning tides or currents? We are comfortable and equipped for cold water diving as we live and dive in Maine. Also any recommendations for air fills in the area?

There are some fabulous WW2 in Halifax, if you manage to find an operator to take you out to them please let us know how it goes.

A buddy of mine I've lost touch with lives and dives in the Halifax area and he sent me photos once of finding artifacts like clay pipes, etc., while shore diving somewhere in the Halifax area. Take your time and pay attention to what you're seeing on shallow shore dives and you might find some history!

We find clay pipes from time to time in Maine and New Hampshire. It’s always fun to find those old artifacts!

There are lots of dive sites in the prospect area, If you contact East Coast Scuba and water sports in Bedford. they can put you in contact with local divers that would be happy to take you out for a dive. You can also message me when you are in town and I can take you for a dive

Awesome! We may take you up on that offer. I e-mailed East Coast Scuba but never got a reply, I may have to give them a call. Do you have a recommendations for the best shore dives in the area?

Here is a list of dive sites Dive Sites | East Coast Scuba & Watersports . my favorite sites are Paddy's head, and Birchy head . both site are in St Margaret's Bay , Paddy's head has a bit of everything for diving , easy entry , an abundance of life . Birchy Head is a bit of a scramble down over some rocks, but offers lots of life and it's is much deeper
