Because its making me spend more money!!! :rofl3:

But really, I have fallen in love with it, a little background:

I'm currently deployed in AFG, and then we were told we could take leave. Two buddies and myself decided on Germany, then remembered is was going to be cold there, so someone recommended Australia!! We wanted to get out and see the reef (after way to much drinking and other things) so we deiced to go on a live aboard and get our OW qual. We did that went out a few days, did about 10 dives, and alot of snorkeling. I'm now hooked and already have bought all of my dive gear sitting in AFG, and ready to get back home and get some dives in!! Its going to be cold but hopefully going to get our AOW, EFR, and Rescue, but sadly most of those will be in quarrys, but going to try and get down to NC/FL to do some wreck diving!!

Well, I've done alot of talking, but the bottom line is I just wanted to say "hi!"

Buy a house, dive on the rent and stay in long
enough for a decent, and then some, pension!

Welcome to the addiction! Hard to beat the feeling of diving, glad you love it.

Not from that area so can't give any recommendations, but there are a ton of people on here that can help point you in the direction of furthering your training.

Stay safe, the water will be waiting for you when you come back!

Keep your head down, don't volunteer for anything, stay safe and thank you for what your doing !!!!....When you get home let me know, I'll show you what diving in Florida is like....

Knowone- That sounds like a good plan, but I don't know if I have the mental fortitude to stay in for atleast 20 ;D

Melanie - Thanks alot for the warm welcome :)

J2s- HAHA, NAVY- Never Again volunteer yourself, and thankyou will do!! I do plan on going to FL sometime to dive....hmmm roadtrip.....

Quero- Thanks for the welcome, a few buddies and I were actually thinking about heading there for a week or two, just have to work out flight logistics >..<

Man, have at least 2 months until I can try the new gear I had sent to my house, this is painful!!

Welcome, and thank you. Cold water diving offers some new challenges, but I think you'll like it. I learned to dive in Florida, but now I live near Seattle. I was able to dive once a month in Florida, now I'm diving once or twice a week in Puget Sound. Work on your skills and training in the quarries, and you'll be in really good shape for diving those wrecks in NC and FL.

Mannnnn I'd LOVE to go to the Philippines.

Thank you very much! Thanks for the advice, I think I can do that :D
