SIDCO, a Beaufort-based nonprofit archaeological dive team, is seeking new volunteers! We are looking for certified divers (Open-water or above) who live in Carteret or Craven counties, especially any who own their own boat. We train divers on-the-job to work in the national archaeological community under the instruction of professional archaeologists such as David D. Moore, Underwater Archaeologist, NC Maritime Museum and Rob Reedy, with R2 Underwater Consultants. SIDCO provides the unique opportunity to participate in actual archaeological investigations along the entire NC coast.

SIDCO is a nonprofit archaeological dive team founded in 1995 to investigate, record and preserve North Carolina's vast submerged history;
for the express purpose of public education and display. Currently we are working on the investigation of "The Lost Tankers" (Ario, Hutton, Papoose, San Delfino, Mirlo) and we are participating in a joint-operation with the USCG, near Ocracoke Inlet.

For more information, go to www.sidco.org and call the friendly guys at SIDCO; 252-725-1514 for Bobby or 252-225-7611 for Rob at the SIDCO Office.

If you live in the Wilmington area, contact our Southport Division and talk with Kevin at 910-712-3093.

Wish I lived closer. Clay county would be a bit to drive from...
