My LDS recently told me that the Nomad is now an integrated BC, meaning that the Transpac is sewn in to make it all one inseperable unit.

True?

If so, why this course? I prefered the concept of being able to swap wings and/or reconfigure the Transpac to have one BC for all types of diving rather than either own multiple BCs and/or buy this as components (at most likely a higher price).

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the post. The Nomad EXP is indeed one cohesive harness/wing/buttplate. It is designed as such because we found 99.9% of divers did not want to switch their harness out with different wings. There is a lot of weaving involved and folks simply wanted a rig for sidemount (or a rig that could do everything, so no need to use other wings). The Nomad EXP can be worn with singles, doubles, sidemount or rebreather.

However, if you prefer a separate rig, than the original Nomad is still available. Or you can buy the Nomad kit, which consists of a wing and buttplate and bungees. Lots of options.

Here is the link to our Nomad catalog online. I've just re-done it so hopefully the options are simpler.

Thanks,
Kathleen

Thanks for the clarification - indeed the previous one is what I desire.

Well, you've actually increased options than decreased them, from what I see looking at the new online catalog.

Thanks for the quick reply.
