I'm just wondering how the seat in the valve is made Nitrox ready?

How is it different from a Non nitrox ready seat?

Now that is, the actual million dollar question

Another one, is,

What do they make neoprene rubber hoses for nitrox regs from?

I thought you were asking about Funny cars

Sorry, Topbodz, you will probably get a lot of jokes from the "Nitro" typo. :)

To make something "Nitrox ready" usually means to make prepare it for filling of Nitrox by a Partial Pressure Blending method.

Partial Pressure Blending puts in 100% O2 first. That means, the tank and valve has to be "O2 Clean".

To make everything O2 clean, all traces of petroleum contaminates are cleaned out, and all the parts put in are O2-compatible. In other words, it won't act as a catalyst for fire.

That's a very lay-person definition, but I hope you get the idea.

Hi Jax:

I know all that stuff....

I just want to know HOW the nitrox ready seat is Made Nitrox ready.....

I really want a direct answer form the manufacturer of the valve....

thanks

The tank valves isnt really that complex (just google scuba tank schematic and youll see).
For recreational divers, the tank and the tank valve is the two parts that need to be o2 clean as they are the only ones that potentially get exposed to very high o2 levels (through pp-blending).
The regulators for recreational divers dont need to be o2 cleaned, due to the fact that there wont be anything above 40% nitrox going through them.

When you start doing accelerated decompression diving with higher o2 mixes youll start to need the regulators as well to be o2 compatible though, but thats not really got much to do vith the valves..
