Have been offered a Nikonos V, Nikon Flash, Nikon DF-11Optical UW Viewfinder,UW Niffor 15mm/F2.8 len and Pelican Case for $500.00. I'm just getting started with photography.
At some point I would like to get a nice DSLR but this is something I can afford right now.
As I have no clue, could some of you more wiser people tell me if this is a fair deal?

Provided everything is in good condition then it is a steal.

If the Nikonos 15mm is in good shape it alone is worth over $500 on ebay. The DF-11 is worth $100 - $160 depending on condition. The Nikonos V is worth in the ballpark of $180 - $275 depending on condition. If the flash is an SB-105 it is worth around $200-$250 for the flash head alone. If the flash is an SB-103 (they have been recalled) you can send it to Nikon and they will send you a brand new SB-105. I have done this several times. They want to get te SB-103's off the street because of the recall.

If nothing else you could buy the system and then auction it off on ebay piece by piece and make a few hundred bucks :)

I was able to purchase this camera. Works fine on land and appears to be in great shape. The strobe is the SB103. Anyone know where I can get a manual for the camera, didn't have this, and where I might can get it serviced before getting it wet. I thank you for your any help you might can offer.

As Charris400 mentioned above, this strobe was recalled years ago because of explosion risk. Nikon swapped SB105s for them.

To send your SB-103 back to Nikon call 1-800-645-6687 and they will send you a box that you can use to send it back to them with.

Here is a link regarding the recall: http://www.nikon.co.jp/main/eng/news...sb103-e_98.htm

I use Southern Nikonos for service:

Give them a call and they will give you the run-down on what to send in. They will probably recommend that you send in the camera, lenses and sync cord.

It sounds like you got a great deal!

You got an excellent setup at a very good price!!! The 15mm lens and DF11 alone are worth more than USD500!!! Nik 15mm lens is one of the best around. If your strobe is not functioning well, go get a strobe and you can get professional quality images!

A better option other than getting the manual is to get "Jim CHurch's Essential Guide to Nikonos Systems". A must have for Nikonos user!

BTW, a lot of professionals who are still shooting film is still using Nikonos V and the 15mm lens!

I still have a full Nikonos V set up for sale if anyone is interested. I got the Nikon swapout for the SB-105. I have the 28mm lens, close up kit and macro tubes/framers.
