Hi folks... I know Nikonos Vs are ancient technology, but I am hoping someone can help fast! I'm getting on a plane in a few hours!

I have a Nikonos V and Ikelite 225 strobe. Testing stuff out, the strobe fires beautifully on manual, but not at all on Auto. I have checked the battery and it's good. I switched chords and this had no effect.

I don't use this thing much anymore... so am I just forgetting something, or do I have a "real" problem!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks....

I am not familiar with your strobe... but if the strobe has a TTL setting is it set to TTL? Are you certain that the Nikonos camera batteries are good? Because that is what controls TTL and just because you get the red arrow in the viewfinder does not mean that the batteries are good. If you are going on a trip I would replace them with new ones regardless.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris... I will replace the battery regardless, but since I posted my question, I switched everything (including the original battery) to another camera and it all worked fine... . Unfortunately, the "other" camera is really toast.

The place I'm going to apparently has a Nikonos service centre and also rents cameras, so I guess I'll schelp all the stuff down anyway.

I knew I should have checked this stuff all out two months ago!

Thanks for your help...
