I have an old Nikonos 2 u/w camera - works fine and would like to get a strobe for it.
Any one have a suggestion - last strobe I had died long time ago. Would need to get some newer model which could be made to adapt to it.

Hi Steve. You'll have to modify the strobe connector on the camera to accept modern strobes--a mod that costs about $100 at Southern Nikonos in Houston. As for the strobe itself, you'll want something with a variety of power settings since you will not be able to use the TTL exposure capability of any strobe with a Nik II. I think an Ikelite ss200 would be the most useful, an Ike 100a or old Ai would be the most cost-effective. -Clay

Not an expert on this, but I think a lot of strobes made outside Nikon can be used for Nikonos also, they are specificly labelled as "Nikonos TTL for film camera support", for example, Ikelite mentioned above, and Inon Z240.
