Currently using a Canon A70 for above and below water, I am planning to buy a DLSR and hesitate between Nikon D5000 and Canon EOS. any major difference to influence my decision when used for underwater photography? Which lens to buy first for wide angle and for macro?

First the easy part: Which lenses to start? 60mm macro, Tokina 10-17 FE

The much harder part: Nikon or Canon? You can't go wrong either way.

I currently use a Canon T2i/550D in a Nauticam housing and I really like both the camera body and the housing. I've owned a variety of Canon DSLRs since the Digital Rebel and I have about $10,000 in Canon lenses so it was an easy decision for me once I decided to upgrade from my Canon G10 in a FIX housing to an UW SLR system.

Thanks. I am currently trying to compare Canon 550D with Nikon D7000 or D90.
