Hi Guys,

Just making the transition to the digital age and am trying to research the numerous alternatives : it's baffling.

Would anyone like to comment on the pros and cons of these last 2 which I have narrowed the search to ; namely, Nikon D90 and Olympus E-520 ? Olympus has it's own housing and strobes, while I believe that Sea and Sea is potentially producing a new polycarbonate housing for the Nikon (RDX). I don't have any experience with these types of housing as I have been a Nikonos V guy for years.

Any thoughts/experience would be greatly appreciated !

Thanks in advance.

I am currently shooting a Nikon D90 and I am very happy with its result so far. Sorry I dont know much about the Olympus e-520, but from memory it is alot smaller in phyiscal size.

Pro's of D90 off the top of my head.
Excellent range of lenses to choose from both Nikon and other companies.
alot of housing companies to choose from.
Battery life of over 1500 shots
Big 3 inch LCD screen
Live view (i dont like it)
video mode (its fun to use)
Great ISO range
4.5 fps shooting if needed
Sensor cleaning function

Personally I would not recommend Olympus's own housings as they are expensive and not as well made as other aftermarket housings. I believe that their strobes are basically rebadged Sea and Sea or their standard onland flash in its own housing.

You can check out my flickr link below and see what shots i am getting with the D90.

Any questions just send me an email.

Regards Mark
