The housing number is one digit up but, does anyone know if I can use my housing for the D-200?

My camera needs new firmware, or at least to be sent to Nikon...so I was thinking about the D-200, but only if the housing and ports are compatible.

Everybody is closed on the mainland or I could call Ikelite....

I don't know if the D-200 will fit into the D-100 housing, but looking at my D-200 and a picture of the D-100, there are some buttons that are in different places/positions, so it looks as if you may not get full functionality of the D-200 in the D-100 housing. They do look similar in shape and size, though.

The D100 is larger than the D200. The D200 has a much larger LCD, and the button positions are likely off even if the layout is similar. It would be nice if camera manufactures would stick to one form factor, but that is rather limiting for them. The D200 would likely fit inside the D100 housing. Would that housing allow one to control the camera? More importantly would it center the lens properly in the port housing? The answer to the latter is likely no. So one might be able to get away with using the housing, but if the lens is even slightly off center no zoom capabilities.

In the pro level bodies they often do keep the same form factor and layout at least for camera's within one generation like the Nikon D2x and D2h.
