hey anyone used this lens? If so any reports / thoughts on it underwater?

At nearly 8" long, 42 oz. I don't think it would be too useful UW. Also, while the close focus limit is .5m, you don't get 1:1 until you're down to 10". If you want a long UW macro lens, I think the 105mm is a better bet.

This lens was immortalized by David Doubilet and his buddies in the Film era.
On DX bodies the 105mm acting as a 160mm get's close but not quite there.
If you want more power than a 105mm that's THE lens, as it is VERY sharp.
I have been shooting for years with a 105mm from film to DX, recently I bought a 60mm but this was and still is a dream lens!!! Perfect for small fast moving subjects that are hard to approach like gobies and small fish.

WARNING: Not for the usual faint-of-heart that thinks t fisheye lenses and long micros are "difficult" to work with though.;)
