Hi all,

My husband and I are getting our PADI Open Water certifications this spring, and then we're planning to go diving in the Caribbean this summer. Wish us luck! (Our checkout dives are at the end of March.)

Hi all,

Welcome from Raleigh.

Hopefully you are doing your checkout dives somewhere other than Fantasy Lake :). Brrr. People dive it year round. But. Brrr. I'm a wimp about water temps.

After going all over the world to dive, offshore NC diving is still my favorite...on a good and sharky day. Try it once you feel that you have enough experience.

Good Luck on your OW and Caribbean dives!

Thanks! We're actually doing our open water and checkout dives in the Florida Springs this weekend. 72 degrees year round. Not exactly toasty, but not so bad in a wetsuit! Heck, the pool we trained in was only at 74 degrees.

I've heard lots of raves about the NC coastal diving. We'll definitely have to give it a try before too long. It's only 2 1/2 hours from here.

Welcome to the board. We have an active dive club in Cary, come join us the second Tues of each month at Mimi's (mall by Wellsfargo/old Wachovia). You can contact Down Under for more details.

Welcome to Scubaboard.
Since you are to be in Florida this weekend.
If you are anywhere near Ginnie Springs (near high Springs).
Drop in at the area known as the "Turkey Roost" to meet a large group of people from ScubaBoard.
If you finish your dives in time, Saturday night is a Galaxy Dive, They are awesome dives!
Also if you tell them at check in you are there for the MegaDive Event, you will get a discount.
Bring your Instructor along as this is a family orientated event with an open invite for all.
Hope to see you there.
