Hello,

actually i am using the Subgear Professional Set JVC HD. I bought also the wideangle UAL02, fisheye UAL04 and the Reefnet Diopter +10. With that setup i am very flexible under water. But after 3 years diving with that system i know very well where the limits are. And before i buy a light system, i want to spent some money in a better video equipment.
Actually i have in mind a Light & Motion Bluefin housing with a canon Legria G25 which is giving me many options in term of lenses.
My expaction is to find a new cam with a very good low light performance and a housing with a good handling (white balance, symmetric etc.) as well as the availability of good lenses.
That means i am looking for a new system in the corner for prosumer. I hope I will get some recommendations which helps me to find the right system.

Thanks in advance

René

5k$ for the first invest Cam and housing.
The rest like lenses can follow later

But if the system is really good i wont start a discussion about a couple of hundred dollars

Look at the Panasonic GH3 and Nauticam Housing. Buy the body only, and then a 7-14mm lens. You will not look back.

I had done a lot of research and ran the predecessor GH2 with the Russian hack before recently investing in the GH3. Prior to this I had a Legra.

the 7-14mm Panasonic is a real practical and magnificent lens, and with the on-camera tele feature, you can be straight into macros with a push of a button or two which you can programme to any number of available buttons.

All important functions are there including white balance if you want it. You can add the 12-35 2.8 lens if you want, and do not need to change ports as it can use the same port as the 7-14mm

If you want to have a look at the macro capability on a 7-14mm look at my Edithburgh Jetty night dive video. you will see sea horse's not much bigger than your finger nail. If you want low light examples - look at my diving north great barrier reef video - lionfish catching prey, and look at the Tank Cave dive videos. The other cave videos were with an earlier different camera, so ignore them for this purpose.

Videos at: ozdiverdown's channel - YouTube

Fast auto focus, great low light, great colours - multiple lenses - good housing

Best of luck in your choices.
